GLYCERIN SOAP RECIPES

Layered Glycerin Soaps

2- 4 oz. bars unscented glycerin soap

10 drops essential oil (your choice)

10 drops essential oil (your choice)

2 drops different colored food coloring (ex. 1 orange, 1 blue)

Place chopped glycerin soap in to a tempered- heat safe container of glass or plastic heat in the microwave on high for 30 seconds. Remove container and swirl to mix, microwave again for 30 seconds then swirl. Continue until completely melted. Add coloring and essential oil. Pour half of the mixture into two soap molds, filling each mold halfway. Wait twenty minutes. Melt your second bar of glycerin soap until liquefied. Remove from heat and stir in the other drop of food coloring and fragrance oil. Pour this second layer on top

DO NOT OVER HEAT THE SOAP: this will cause air bubbles and will have to be cooled overnight and remelted.

Pour into ungreased molds and allow to cool at room temperature undisturbed. After completely solid place in the freezer for ONLY 5 minutes then they will easily pop out of the molds. This recipe creates two bars of luxurious layered soap. Use your two favorite fragrances to make your soap.

Goldenseal Soap

This is a wonderful antiseptic soap!

8 oz glycerin soap base

2 tsp. Goldenseal powder

2 TBS olive oil

essential oil of your choice

Heat the oil and add the goldenseal, stir to make a place. Add to the melted glycerin soap, stir well add essential oil. Place in molds and let cool.

Grapefruit Tea Tree Antiseptic Soap

8 oz. Glycerin soap

1 TBS. Tea tree Oil

5 drops grapefruit essential oil.

Add the tea tree oil to the melted glycerin soap, stir well add essential oil. Place in molds and let cool.

Larkspur-Sunflower Soap

8 oz glycerin soap

2 TBS Infused sunflowers-olive oil

1 TBS. Pulverized sunflower seeds

golden color

2 TBS. Larkspur flowers-dried

5 drops essential oil

Add the infused oil to the melted glycerin soap, stir well. Add pulverized sunflower and the color. Add essential oil and larkspur. Place in molds and let cool.

 

Oat and Barley Soap

A wonderful soothing soap great for dry, chaffed or itchy skin.

8 oz glycerin soap base

1/4 cup pulverized oatmeal

1 tsp. barley powder

5 tsp. Mild essential oil

Add the oatmeal and barley powder to the melted glycerin soap, stir well. Add essential oil and larkspur. Place in molds and let cool.

 

Oriental Jewel Soap

This soap will rejuvenate and soften rough skin.

8 oz glycerin soap

10 drops frankincense essential oil

10 drops ylang ylang essential oil

color of your choice

1 TBS calendula petals

Dried Botanicals of your choice

Add the essential oils to the melted glycerin soap, stir well. Add the color. Place in molds and let cool.

Juniper Acne Soap

Great to help prevent skin eruptions with a heavenly smell!

8 oz glycerin soap

1 TBS. of juniper tincture( 1/2 cup hot water and 2 TBS ground juniper berries)

10 drops of juniper essential oil

color of your choice

Add the tincture to the melted glycerin soap, stir well. Add the color and essential oil. Place in molds and let cool.

Relaxing-Exfoliating Soap

The combination of herbs and white facial clay make this a relaxing beauty treatment!

8 oz glycerin soap

1 tsp. White kaolin clay

10 drops clary sage oil

2 TBS. Ground-medium oatmeal

1 TBS chamomile ground

Add the oil to the melted glycerin soap, stir well. Add ground oatmeal and chamomile. Add essential oil. Place in molds and let cool.

Lavender-Rosemary Relaxing Soap

8 oz glycerin

2 TBS. Tincture of rosemary and lavender

10 drops lavender essential oil

1 0 Drops rosemary essential oil

Ground rosemary or lavender

Color desired

Make the tincture by placing 2 TBS of Lavender and 2 TBS of rosemary in 1/2 cup boiling water. Allow to steep for 15 minutes strain and use. Add the tincture to the melted glycerin soap, stir well. Add the color, and essential oils. Place in molds and let cool.

 

Hand Milled Soap Recipes

Lavender Chamomile Soap

Ingredients

2- 4 oz bars Castiile or soap base

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons strong chamomile tea

6 drops lavender essential oil

 

Directions

1. Grate bars of soap with cheese grater (two bars per batch)

2. Mix grated soap with up to 4 tablespoons of the chamomile infused tea and olive oil.

3. Melt grated soap, liquid, and spices (if desired) in bowl in microwave for two minutes, stirring every 30-40 seconds.

4. Once you have a nice pudding texture, pour the mixture into molds that have been greased with olive oil. (you only have one to two minutes to work with the mixture).

5. Let set in molds or over night. The soap is ready to use or wrap and save for later.

 

Garden Soap

Ingredients

1 teaspoon fresh herbs (comfrey, mint, chickweed)

2-4 oz bars Castiile or soap base soap

2 tablespoons coconut oil

1 tablespoon finely ground dried parsley, fennel

5 drops each of essential oil of rosemary and patchouli

1/4 cup cornmeal

Take fresh herbs and water and blend in blender or vitamix strain.

Directions

1. Grate bars of soap with cheese grater (two bars per batch)

2. Mix grated soap with up to four tablespoons of liquid half water-herb mixture- half coconut oil

3. Add essential oils.

4. Melt grated soap, liquid, and spices (if desired) in bowl in microwave for two minutes, stirring every 30-40 seconds.

5. Once you have a nice pudding texture, pour the mixture into molds that have been greased with olive oil. (you only have one to two minutes to work with the mixture).

6. Let set in molds or over night. The soap is ready to use or wrap and save for later

 

Marshmallow Root Soap

Ingredients

2-4 oz bars Castiile or soap base soap

Coconut oil

Marshmallow root

4 tablespoon olive oil

essential oil of your choice

Directions

Infuse 2 oz marshmallow root into the olive oil - this was about all that can be realistically submersed. Nuke at 180 degrees for 30 minutes.

1. Grate bars of soap with cheese grater (two bars per batch)

2. Mix grated soap with up to four tablespoons of liquid half olive oil-herb mixture- half coconut oil

3. Add essential oils.

4. Melt grated soap, liquid, and spices (if desired) in bowl in microwave for two minutes, stirring every 30-40 seconds.

5. Once you have a nice pudding texture, pour the mixture into molds that have been greased with olive oil. (you only have one to two minutes to work with the mixture).

6. Let set in molds or over night. The soap is ready to use or wrap and save for later

 

Honey Soap

Ingredients

2-oz bars Castiile or soap base soap

2 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions

1. Grate bars of soap with cheese grater (two bars per batch)

2. Mix grated soap with 2 tablespoons of honey and 2 tablespoons olive oil

3. Melt grated soap, liquid, and spices (if desired) in bowl in microwave for two minutes, stirring every 30-40 seconds.

4. Once you have a nice pudding texture, pour the mixture into molds that have been greased with olive oil. (you only have one to two minutes to work with the mixture).
